Tooth LoCK WASHERS

ENGINEERED STAMPINGS
Shakeproof locking teeth can be incorporated in an almost endless variety of stamped shapes. This versatile design feature, when added to any screw mounting hole, will appreciably increase the integrity and security of the assembly. Various stamped configurations incorporating Shakeproof locking teeth are shown. For information on these and other components incorporating Shakeproof locking teeth, or information on how these teeth can be incorporated
in your stamped component, contact Shakeproof or an authorized Shakeproof distributor.
External Type
Provide maximum torsional resistance.
Work best with larger head screws (round, pan, binding, etc.)
MATERIALS:
Part numbers shown (11 XX-00) are
for washers made of Spring Steel. Washers made from 400 series stainless steel may be ordered by converting the part number to the 1600 series (16XX-00). Bronze lock washers may be ordered by converting the part number to the 1800 series (18XX-00).
Internal Type
Work best with smaller screw heads.
Use where appearance warrants that teeth be hidden.
MATERIALS:
Part numbers shown (12XX-00) are for washers made of Spring Steel. Washers are also available in 400 series stainless steel and in bronze. Stainless steel washers are ordered by converting the part number to the 1700 series (17XX-00). Bronze washers are ordered by converting the part number to the 1900 series (19XX-00).
82º Countersunk - External Type
For use with flat and oval head screws having either 80° or 100° countersunk angles.
Where appearance or snagging are important
considerations, a version with a smooth external flange and internal teeth is available.
COUNTERSINKING SPECIFICATIONS: to
accommodate 82° flat and oval head screws
with Shakeproof Countersunk Lock Washers.
External-Internal Type
Use where large bearing surface is desired
Use as insert between two adjustable pieces
to maintain their position after original setting
Use to span oversized or elongated holes
Ideal for electrical bonding
Pyramidal Type
Provide exceptional holding strength and withstand high
torques — ideal for heavy duty applications
Ribbed for rigidity under load.
Sharp points on periphery resist shifting.
Internal teeth lock into bolt head or nut to prevent backoff.
Dome Type
Use where force and rigidity are required when fastening in
soft or thin material
Distributes load over wide area
Spans oversized or elongated holes
Internal teeth lock into bolt head or nut to prevent backoff
Dished Type

Use where force and resiliency are needed when fastening in soft or thin materials
Distributes load over wide area
Spans oversize or elongated holes
Internal teeth lock into bolt head or nut to prevent
backoff rotation
Wide Rim Type
External
Internal
Use with large diameter screw and bolt heads when extreme torques are not required
Spans oversized and elongated holes
Alternate Internal Type
Use where force and resiliency are needed when fastening in soft or thin materials
Distributes load over wide area
Spans oversize or elongated holes
Internal teeth lock into bolt head or nut to prevent
backoff rotation
Narrow Rim Type
External
Internal
Use with small headed screws and special narrow-rimmed nuts
Small O.D. in relation to I.D.
Ideal where clearance or appearance may be a factor
