TAP/R® for Refrigerator Hinge
Problem:
The thread rolling screw that our customer was using to fasten the freezer hinge to a refrigerator would not consistently seat flat, which gave a poor appearance to the end user. As a result, the customer was going to begin tapping the assembly and using a machine screw.
Solution:
Customer switched to the Tap/R® instead of tapping the mating hole.
Impact:
The Tap/R® consistently seats flat due to the thread forming point and the customer was able to avoid additional cost of tapping the mating bracket and other problems such as cross threading.
